About Tanya
Background
I am a Licensed Psychoanalyst in New York, NY. I provide a therapeutic space for individuals to better understand the root causes of their sadness, depression, frustrations, loneliness, helplessness, or anxiety. I also work with couples who have conflict in their relationship to repair trust and intimacy.
I completed the four-year training program in psychoanalysis and comprehensive psychotherapy through the National Institute for Psychotherapies, where I studied the psychoanalytic approach. This approach examines the ways that unconscious thoughts and feelings manifest as conflict in a person’s daily life. I provide a safe environment for my clients to explore their memories, thoughts, feelings, desires, and beliefs. I use my training and experience in understanding what’s going on underneath the surface to support my clients as they face trauma, shame, or low self-esteem.
I previously worked as a lawyer at a litigation firm, and I continue to provide support to families going through mediation outside of her therapy practice. I bring respect, honesty, and compassion to each session with the aim of helping my clients better understand themselves.
